The Asbury Park Press highlighted the importance of the new Sunrise Detox in Toms River, as six more deaths were reported for Ocean County in January. Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato noted that the new facility is an important step towards solving the heroin problem in Ocean County:
“It oozes quality and importantly it provides a solution to a problem, at least the beginning of a solution,” said Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato
John Moriarty, Northeast Director of Marketing for Sunrise and an active participant in many of the grass-roots efforts trying to stem the tide of addiction in New Jersey over the past few years, was quoted several times in the APP. The new detox center in Toms River adds even more opportunity to support efforts that reduce the impact of drug and alcohol abuse in New Jersey.
“We’re looking to contribute to the community any way we can, and we’re looking forward to being a resource for the community,” Moriarty said.

"I'm here to help, and will help in any way I can. Often times people find themselves in difficult situations, having to learn about intervention and treatment options for substance abuse they had no idea about before. They find themselves ill-equipped to navigate a crisis situation. I do my best to provide them truthful, practical information they can use to make smart decisions. They simply need to call for help, and we'll try and help." - John Moriarty
